Also? Notice the “s” at the end of fashionista? I have some fabulous friends who will be contributing their thoughts and resources as well. Join us as we strive to turn the act of consumption in to one of grace and good will.

Fair trade: an organized social movement and market-based approach that aims to help producers in developing countries to make better trading conditions and promote sustainability. The movement (known as “fair trade”) advocates the payment of a higher price (i.e. a “living wage”) to exporters as well as higher social and environmental standards.

Fashionista: a very fashionable person, especially one who works in the fashion industry.

  1. I’m just starting out over this past year trying to change my shopping, buying, consuming, eating, etc patterns to be more fair trade focused, ethical fashion and local when possible too. But I feel overwhelmed at how to do it all! I’ve been following you on Instagram for a while, can’t remember how I found you but thrilled I did! Have followed several companies you’ve tagged. Any advice for a novice starting out who has strong desire and commitment! ? Thank you for your time!
